 The RIMA COMPENSATING STACKER will count out a preset number of booklets, jog and stack them before moving them on the conveyor for collection. It can also be programmed to criss-cross the counted stacks of booklets before moving them on the conveyor.

 The heavy-duty VIJUK–G&K ZK 500/ZK-600 KNIFE FOLDING UNITS can be attached to fold booklets or newsletters as they exit the trimmer (up to a 144-page, depending on stock).
They can also be used off-line for folding signatures, booklets, or any special commercial folding applications.

 The DOMINO AMJET INK JETTING SYSTEMS will personalize, address, date, number, barcode, and print variable graphics in line at the stitcher's maximum speed in high resolution (120 x 240 dpi)-configurable to any orientation-on a variety of surfaces like coated paper, plastic and packaging film.
Barcodes include: Intelligent Mail R, 2 of 5 Interleaved, Code 39, Code 128, POSTNET, PLANET, and Datamatrix 2D codes. It will store up to 80 logos and print specified logos per job.
The BitjetTM graphics print-head can image 2.13" the full length of cover in the direction of travel.
The Domino JetArrayTM ink jet prints up to 8 lines in a single pass.
When the two heads are integrated with a plow station, they will simultaneously ink jet the inside and outside of booklets through a WindowsRXP based controller.
Domino systems can be integrated with mail tables, web presses, label presses, bindery and finishing lines, and other equipment.

 The OPTICAMERA SYSTEM will further optimize quality control. While on-the-fly, sensors automatically scan and store information from the first signature at each feeder. It compares that information to the following signatures fed in the pocket. If an incorrect signature is loaded, the machine will stop and a light at the feeder will indicate it is the place of the misfeed. OPTICODE SYSTEMS are available for barcode reading. |

Each feeder has both caliper-type doublesheet detection and photocell missing-sheet detection.
Before stitching, booklets are checked by the oblique monitor for long- or skewed-book, followed by an over/under caliper (1 in Feature E photo) for totality.
Irregular sets with double, missing or incorrectly aligned signatures or pages are diverted to a reject tray unstitched while the machine continues its operation, thus maximizing production and minimizing spoilage.
A missing stitch detector (2 in Feature E photo) monitors the number of stitches per booklet. If it does not match the preset number, the booklet is diverted to an eject tray. If three booklets are diverted in succession, the machine automatically shuts off for trouble shooting.
